Memberships

Membership of the Society provides access to the Online Registry and enables members to participate in Society activities.

Membership Options

Gold Membership: Breeder Annual Membership (for individuals and families registering sheep under a single flock prefix)

2026 (Until 31 December 2026): £80 – Direct Debit, £90 – BACS or Cheque
2027 (From 1 January 2027): £85 – Direct Debit, £100 – BACS or Cheque

Gold membership includes:

• Full access to the Online Registry, including registration of homebred animals and transfer of ownership
• The ability to list animals for sale and advertise rams for hire or for Artificial Insemination (AI)
• One vote at the Annual General Meeting, any Extraordinary General Meeting, and in electronic or postal elections
• A welcome pack

Silver Membership: Associate Annual Membership (for adult non-breeders)

£50 – Direct Debit
£60 – BACS or Cheque

Silver membership includes:

• Read-only access to the Online Registry
• The right to vote in electronic or postal Council elections
• A welcome pack

Bronze Membership: Junior Annual Membership (for non-breeders under 18)

£30 – Direct Debit
£40 – BACS or Cheque

Bronze membership includes:

• Read-only access to the Online Registry
• A welcome pack

Overseas Membership: Annual Membership (for members based outside the United Kingdom)

2026 (Until 31 December 2026): £110 – BACS
2027 (From 1 January 2027): £150 – BACS

Overseas membership includes:

• Read-only access to the Online Registry

–Please note: Gold, Silver, and Bronze membership categories are available only to residents of the United Kingdom.

Welcome Pack

New members receive a welcome pack containing information about the breed and the Society, together with a selection of Society items. Welcome packs are issued once subscription payment has been received.

Additional Society merchandise can be purchased through the online shop.

Subscription Period

Membership runs 1 January to 31 December, with renewals due on 1 January each year.

New Gold memberships joining after 1 July:

2026 (Until 31 December 2026): £45
2027 (From 1 January 2027): £50

This reduced rate applies to new members only and does not apply to renewals or to lapsed members re-joining.

Subscription Payment

Membership subscriptions can be paid by Direct Debit, BACS or cheque.

Direct Debit offers a convenient way to manage your membership, with payments collected automatically each year. Gold members also benefit from a reduced annual subscription fee when paying by Direct Debit.

Your first subscription payment will be collected on the 1st of the month following your application, with subsequent annual payments collected on 1 January.

Direct Debit can also be used to pay other Society invoices, including animal registrations, DNA testing and event fees. Simply select this additional option on the mandate form, and payments will be collected on the 1st of the month following the invoice date.

To renew your membership manually:

2. Click the orange “Renew” button under Membership
