Blacknose Beauties 2020 Online Young Handler Competition
Our young handler classes have always featured as one of the main highlights in our annual show and as a Society we understand the importance in encouraging our next generation of breeders. This year we are excited to announce that we are bringing our young handler competitions to the safety of your own homes.
We will host three online competitions:
- Class 1: 8 years old and under
- Class 2: 9-12 years old
- Class 3: 12-17 years old
Each class winner with then go forward to compete for the overall Young Handler Champion title.
Competitions will be judged by Andrew and Jemma Knowles-Brown of Crookedstane Valais Blacknose whom are our yearly Blacknose Beauties class sponsors.
Entry is free simply email your videos along with a photograph of the young handler and sheep to our society inbox: info@valaisblacknosesheepsciety.co.uk
Videos need to include the following information:
- Name of child, age, where they are from, flock prefix
- Name of sheep, age and reason for selecting the sheep for competition i.e. most friendly
- What they like the most about Blacknose Beauties i.e. their annual play date, selfies with Elfie
- Please name each video and photo according to the class entry details i.e. Class 1 followed by the young handler’s name
*Parents are welcome to ask their younger children questions.
Entries will close on: Saturday August 8, 2020
Class winners and the overall Young Handler Champion will be announced on Saturday August 22, 2020. Prize rosettes will be distributed via Royal Mail postal service following competition announcements.
Rules:
- Entrants are required to wear white show coats and society ties are per Blacknose Beauties rules.
- Entrants/parents of entrants must be VBSSUK members.

- Videos posted via Facebook ‘comments’ will be removed.
